My Culinary Journey

I am a professionally trained chef who loves to spread the love of cooking, explore the culture of food and celebrate the cuisines of the world. My passion in cooking has led me to a career as a chef, cooking teacher and a forever learner of anything and everything that is related to food.

My curiosity about the culinary world began in my teenage years, watching cooking shows by Julia Child, Jacque Pepin, The Frugal Gourmet, The Galloping Gourmet, Pasquale (the Italian singing chef), and Stephen Yan (Wok with Yan). I would often try to replicate the dishes of these masters in our tiny kitchen. But it wasn't until after university that I finally  decided to follow my dream of becoming a chef and enrol in Culinary School. Since obtaining my diploma and Red Seal certification, I have worked at various restaurants, run my own catering company, founded a supper club, and taught classes in-person and online.

I currently teach Culinary Arts and Hospitality & Tourism in high school, a position I have held for the past 12 years. Working alongside young adults and witnessing their evolution from reluctant food-handlers to fully confident cooks is the ultimate reward in my vocation as a teacher and a chef.
